The Full Monty

A strip act that reveals more than their bravado can handle

The story is based on the famous 1997 feel-good film that won dozens of awards, including an Oscar for best music. 

Because of the economic crisis, large numbers of workers lose their jobs. It is a time of change. Traditional values and norms come under pressure, women are earning their place in society and the male role seems to be shifting. 

We follow five men in the run-up to the big show: rehearsing a strip act, getting their bodies into shape and stripping in front of each other for the first time.  It doesn’t go without a struggle. We see each of them fighting his own battle: one doesn’t dare look at his belly in the mirror, another desperately tries to keep his ego intact and a third wonders what, if anything, is still manly about him.  Will they dare face the women? Because even if they’re not perfect, they are ‘real men’ – and they promise The Full Monty.
