The Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven

Theater en toneel

The LP: Friday Night in San Francisco featured a breathtaking live in the 1980s! registration of a concert in San Francisco by the initiator, the English guitar virtuoso John Mclaughlin, fusion guitarist Al Di Meola and flamenco maestro Paco de Lucia. What was particularly striking was the combination of three completely different, very virtuosic, acoustic guitar sounds and styles.

Following this, the unique combination of five Dutch top guitarists was created at the end of the 1990s: Five Great Guitars. The original line-up was: Jan Kuiper, Digmon Roovers, Eric Vaarzon Morel, Zoumana Diarra and Harry Sacksioni. Since then, founder and artistic director Jan Kuiper and guitar bassist Digmon Roovers have toured throughout the Netherlands with their super guitar group Five Great Guitars. An exciting journey through the world of modern guitar with improvisation as the connecting factor. A unique mix of Gypsy, Africa, Brazil, Roots, Latin, Pop, Funk and Jazz, and swinging grooves and rhythms from all continents.

After the very successful Santana tribute tour: BLACK MAGIC WOMAN  and the very versatile GUITAR HEROES  Jan Kuiper launched a new concept;

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN

Three different guitar acts in one festival program with a number of accessible workshops by the assembled guitarists as a warm-up. This line-up, full of virtuosity and playing pleasure, promises a perfect combination of surprising arrangements and very swinging, danceable guitar grooves.
