Flemish success show "Foon" is coming to the Netherlands!
“They create a world that leans against the realistic, but in which the imagination overcomes. "I want to see this again!" I heard a boy say when going out. Connection successful. ” - Theaterkrant
“ Can I connect you? ”. More than 50 years ago made of telephonists to cruising speed Bellers with each other. Creaking conversations came about through a complicated system of cables. According to the strict telephone retirette, the switching ladies themselves were not allowed to laugh or talk to each other. It was even forbidden to whisper and they were certainly not allowed to listen to the telephone conversations. While they brought the world into contact with each other, mutual communication was strictly forbidden. This exciting friction forms the starting point for the new DOFT show foon.
in foon we follow three telephonists on the switch: channel in and out. The hunting of the incoming phone calls creates a nervous and impatient atmosphere. The telephonists live in a factory world in which they repeat the same actions. The more they connect others, the more they lose themselves ... The (human) machines get overheated and everything stops. Those who always connect people are forced to connect with each other for the first time. The fear of silence makes way for the power of connection.
Foon is a dynamic, surprising and playful dance theater performance where text, movement, music, acrobatics and installation work merge. Choreographer Piet van Dycke & Theatermaker Jonas Vermeulen, together with three physical players, create a poetic and visual experience for everyone from the age of 6 about The (r) evolution from me-side to we . /p>
