HEDDA

HEDDA

Theater en toneel

Director Abdel Daoudi gives Hedda Gabler a voice you've never heard before. Raw, uncompromising and imbued with the dynamics of power and control. In a society that marginalizes and exoticizes, Hedda not only fights for freedom – she demands space. She plays with perceptions, manipulates not out of lust for power, but out of pure necessity: to determine her own value in a world that often sees her only as an object. She is the ultimate brat in exile – brutal, sharp and without fear of facing the truth.

Hedda's relationships are determined by social power relations: her partner who does not understand her urge to control, the men around her who label her as exotic without ever really knowing her. She pushes the boundaries of being a woman in a society that simultaneously honors and despises her. She provokes, she defies, she challenges.

But what do you see when you look into Hedda's eyes?
