HEDDA

HEDDA

Theater en toneel

Director Abdel Daoudi gives Hedda Gabler a voice that you have never heard before. Raw, uncompromising and penetrated with the dynamics of power and control. In a society that marginalizes and exotizes, Hedda is not only fighting for freedom - she claims space. She plays with perceptions, does not manipulate out of power myth, but out of pure necessity: to determine her own value in a world that often only sees her as an object. She is the ultimate brat in exile - brutal, sharp and without fear of facing the truth.

Hedda's relationships are determined by social power relations: her partner who does not understand her urge to check, the men in her environment who really label her without ever knowing her. She is looking for the boundaries of being a woman in a society that at the same time honors and despised her. She provokes, she defies, she challenges.

But what you see, if you look Hedda in the eyes?

45 minutes before the start, an introduction is given by Annette Embrechts, dance and theater journalist for the Volkskrant. For this you can reserve a place free of charge during the ordering process.
