Ouderpardon
about inadequate parents and their best intentions. After the comic and moving first two parts, mother is not allowed to die and not the fathers it is now time to give the children a voice. In Ouderpardon she conducts a stimulating, humorous theatrical lawsuit about poor parents and their best intentions. Because although a child has been made in a seesaw, parenting appears to be a challenge. Parents do their smelly best, imitate what they themselves get from their fathers, mothers and feeds, or do their very best not to do that. Nice words, but what does this mean for the duties of parents? Theater maker Minou Bosua investigates with music, singing, documentary and a lot of humor that ends up from parenthood and upbringing. She presents a parenting deed, which, just like marriage, entails legal obligations. This allows children to go to court in times of need. The libretto of this new "Volksopera" is based on experiences of (former) children's judges, (whether or not disrupted) young people and (whether or not desperate) parents. With new music from composers Sinem Altan and Robbert Klein, documentary images of Cleo Julia Mullis and a colorful design of Bas Kosters. Parent pardon is a new opera about the second oldest profession in the world. |
