Ozcan 'Eus' Akyol
Anyone who had predicted forty years ago that Little Eus would make a career with the Dutch language from a slum was probably declared crazy. Nevertheless, Özcan Akyol, writer, columnist and presenter, managed to escape from the working class, in particular thanks to education and literature. With humor and sharpness he talks about the obstacles, insights and opportunities that he encountered on the way to a new existence. An inspiring and current plea for the written word, cultural development and class equality. He grew up in Deventer and, thanks in part to literature and education, managed to escape from the working class. With his sharp pen and unique view of society, he wrote successful books such as "Eus and Turis", and is a regular columnist of leading media. He gives guest lessons in schools and speaks at educational meetings. On television he is known for programs such as "Stars on the Canvas" and "The Knagdoge Guest", in which he has in -depth conversations in his quirky way.
