In Mexico they believe that the souls of the deceased come back to the world of the living once a year. During the Los Muertos streets decorated with flowers, candles and skeletons, and there is music and laughter everywhere. It is a party full of memories in which sorrow and joy go hand in hand.

Big people, in co-production with Maas Theater and Dance, brings this celebration to the theater Metskeletje, a visual, playful and moving show about death, mourning and memories. How does it feel when someone is no longer there? Can you still dance if you are a skeleton? And how do you keep someone alive in stories and rituals? With slapstick, music, and a touch of magic, they build a colorful memorial place full of stories and memories. The show takes you into a world where nothing is what it seems: changes to altarts, flowers grow from nowhere, and skeletons dance cheerfully through the space. What starts as an empty theater, fills with flowers, flags, candles and cheerful memories. The grief may be there, but the party too. A bustling ode to life!
