Life songs, smartlaps and tear -jerkers: it was a matter of time before The Kik, led by Dave von Raven, would venture. In the period in which all the good atmosphere seemed disappeared forever, Dave built his own pub in his house. Belgian beers in dimmed light, decap dance organ, a healthy dose of nostalgia and towering piles of records from Johnny Hoes, Eddy Wally, Corry Konings and Johnny Jordaan. This was the inspiration for writing an album full of life songs. Songs in which cosiness and ambiance predominate, space for nostalgia and romance and where melancholy is always lurking.
