Liszt Utrecht presents, develops and promotes piano talents from all over the world. This makes it one of the most important stepping stones to the international professional classical music scene for young musicians.

The starting point is the triennial international Liszt Competition, held in TivoliVredenburg, Utrecht. Since its founding in 1986, the competition has built a reputation as one of the world's most prestigious piano competitions. From the 2022 edition onwards, the competition will have a new format, with less focus on the competitive element and participants being given more opportunities to showcase their talent to an international audience. The winner of the Liszt Competition will come to Het Speelhuis on February 3, 2026. This performance includes coffee/tea and a cozy cake buffet.
