About Wonka Podia
Wonka Podia is an intensive cooperation between five theaters from South-East Brabant (Brainport region). Within this cooperation we share experiences and learn from each other in the areas of technology, marketing and programming. Together we take steps to make our venues more accessible and more welcoming to everyone who wants one. We find each other in overarching themes such as inclusiveness, internationalization and education. By working together, we create more impact and can mean more to the Brainport region; our working area.

Since 2018, the national government has wanted a better distribution of wealth across regions outside the Randstad. To this end, the vision Every region counts has been drawn up, with money made available through Regio Deals. One of the factors in the vision is culture. For this, regions must write their own applications that include culture as an incentive goal. Applications for the sixth and final tranche are now open through Oct. 31. One VSCD member who has experience with Region Deal incentive funds is Paul L’Herminez, director of Theater de Hofnar in Valkenswaard.

International touch for Wonka Comedy Festival thanks to Region Deal funds
An evening of laugh out loud at clever conferences, virtuoso language inventions or rock-hard jokes. Cabaret is more popular than ever. Five theaters in the Brainport region annually organize the Wonka Comedy Festival to attract comedy lovers and discoverers of the genre. This year was no exception. With the help of Regio Deal funds, this second edition also managed to have international talent perform.
