Cabaretier Chris Verlaan conquered the hearts of many with his programs "Man in the Make" and "De Kringloper". With his unique, autistic view of life and his caught humor, he takes the audience into his world. His stories are recognizable, surprising and offer a refreshing view of daily reality. In his own dry, cynical style, Chris brings a program full of anecdotes and songs such as only Chris that can bring.

If something goes wrong in Chris's life, he always thinks of his mother's statement: "Well, there are no children." Chris is struggling with great pleasure through the uncertain, single existence, but he would secretly want to pass on something of himself to the next generation. Quite difficult, if even looking at a woman person is already a challenge. With a lot of inconvenience and the necessary self -mockery, he shares the life lessons he himself has now with his audience. Will Chris be able to contribute to society in his unique way? Whatever you think of Chris, one thing is certain: "Well, there are no children."

The press about "De Kringloper

  • NRC ★★★: “Whose style full of self-mockery and huge sarcasm in combination with a calm, mild-generated tone is occasionally reminiscent of that of Kees Torn. Or further back, to Toon Hermans. ... Laadan calm, at times very dry tone and its pointed and caught jokes make the Kringloper a solid and often entertaining performance ”)

  • Theaterkrant: "Provided with a good balance between human hatred and abundant self -mockery, he makes us part of the inconveniences of his autism and the lessons he draws from talk group 'Hup with life'"

  • De Volkskrant ★★★: “A pleasant introduction to the comic talent Chris Verlaan. ... the way of telling and placing jokes is sometimes reminiscent of Herman Finkers. "

  • Ilovetheater ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥: "The relationship between the serious stories and his jokes is just right."
