Sandra runs her own feminist bookstore and happily lives alone in her cozy apartment. For love and adventure she can turn to her extensive bookcase, which she thoroughly enjoys. A happy single, so to speak.
Her quiet routine is suddenly interrupted when a tragedy turns the life of her neighbor Alex upside down and Sandra can no longer endure her self-chosen loneliness. Moved by the young single father Alex and encouraged by his talkative six-year-old son Elliot, the distance between the two apartments becomes smaller and smaller. And what at first seems like an average French drama quickly develops into an original story about human connections.
