In the snowy coastal town of Sokcho in South Korea, Soo-Hah leads a life of routine. She works as a receptionist, and her main company is her mother and her distant boyfriend. When the French comic-book artist Yan Kerrand arrives in search of inspiration for his work, Soo-Hah's life begins to change dramatically.
As she shows him the surroundings, the local fish market and the border with North Korea, a tentative bond grows between them. Through his eyes, Soo-Hah discovers a new side of her country and of herself. Meanwhile, questions grow about her own identity and about her French father, of whom she knows next to nothing.
