Guus Hiddink is considered the most successful coach in Dutch football history. The world citizen from the Achterhoek won the Europa Cup 1 with PSV in 1988, reached the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2005 and became national champion six times with the Eindhoven club. With Real Madrid he won the World Cup for club teams in 1998, with Orange he reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in France earlier that year and with Chelsea he won the FA Cup in 2009.

At least as impressive was his ability to get the most out of apparent outsiders, as he did with South Korea (semi-final World Cup in 2002), Australia (second round World Cup in 2006) and Russia (semi-final Euro 2008). It earned him, among other things, the honorary citizenship of Seoul and a statue in De Krim.
