In Tosca love, jealousy and moral struggle come together in one of Puccini’s best-loved operas. Ukraine Chamber Opera presents a powerful interpretation in which music and drama are in perfect balance.

Francis van Broekhuizen brings a many-layered Tosca to life. With her powerful voice and strong stage presence, she paints an intense portrait of a woman torn between love and conscience. Vissi d’arte is one of the emotional high points.

The production opts for a clear, compact staging in which the story and Puccini’s music take centre stage. Under the baton of conductor Jeroen Weierink, a taut arc of tension develops between singers and orchestra.

With an international cast, the Rome of 1800 comes to life in a story full of political intrigue, passion and fateful choices.
