Wildsong - Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT 1)
Choreographer Jan Martens, known for his daring and abstract creations that radiate energy, makes his first world premiere full of endurance, rebellion, and innovative punk-style music. For his first NDT 1 creation, Martens works with a large ensemble of dancers on the stimulating, punk-like compositions Pretty by Julia Wolfe and GG Concerto by Hanna Kulenty, which complement each other perfectly and magnify the movements on stage.
We also revisit the imaginative Horses (2024) by brand new associate choreographer Marcos Morau. He is known for creating visually impressive works, which can best be described as surreal landscapes. He invites you to reflect on what it means to survive in a complex world full of unrest, transformation and the paradox that getting lost is sometimes the right way forward. The crazy theatricality of the dancers in combination with the exciting music by composers Andrzej Panufnik and Caroline Shaw make Horses a fascinating experience that will leave you breathless.
