By now he’s a seasoned veteran, and with the release of his latest album "Maandag als we rijk zijn" he is already seven albums in. Van de Doelen is a character who’s never far from a smile. A man who can tell a story. No poetic waffle, just true words. About how often he didn’t get home until 6 in the morning, long after the pubs had all closed. About how only now does he realise how lonely she must have been back then. About how he had to climb that monkey rock like a man. And about how, in the end, without another word, she takes him back into her arms the way only a woman can.
Van der Doelen likes to hold up a mirror to his listeners with his real, sincere, sometimes slightly awkward but above all honest-as-gold little stories. With a wink, Van der Doelen calls himself the pearl of Brabant. As far as we’re concerned, quite rightly so!
