Café Chantant
The group distinguishes itself with atmospheric arrangements for flute, recorder, percussion, accordion and keyboard, making the music sound fuller and more orchestral than other cabaret companies. The often three-part vocals are a feast for the ears.
Think of songs like 'Let me', 'Pastorale', 'Why are you crying' and 'The apples and the tablecloth'.
The ensemble was founded by keyboardist, accordionist and arranger Arjan Bruinsma, who added lead singer and multi-instrumentalist Janneke van Heeswijk and flautist and singer Marjolein Kempen to the band a few years ago. Since then, Café Chantant has built up a solid reputation in Dutch theaters and cultural centers, where the trio regularly plays to full houses.
With a warm and intimate style, Café Chantant knows how to touch a wide audience - a concert full of recognition, with a laugh and a tear.
