Frans Pollux en BJ Baartmans
He comes from Venlo, a city with a close-knit community that is so dear to his heart that it is a theme in much of his work.
Versatility is the key word: his literary work sits alongside his carnival songs, his serious plays take nothing away from his popular theatre pieces in dialect, and his interest in science goes hand in hand with his love of Limburg folk culture.
In De Schalm he performs his music, his songs, in Limburgish – his own Limburgish – accompanied by guitarist and singer BJ Baartmans.
Frans has been writing songs since the age of fifteen. With his school band Neet oét Lottum, he built up a large following and an extensive repertoire.
Since 2010 he has been writing and performing under his own name.
