Het uur van de waarheid De Prijs is a gripping new Dutch play based on events that took place in Haaksbergen, in Twente, in 2005. Alongside renowned actor Stefan de Walle, the best actors of the new generation shine: Daniël Kolf (Theo d’Or winner), Bilal El Aoumari (Gouden Kalf winner), Achraf Koutet and cabaret performer Donny Ronny (formerly Stefano Keizers). 

Four friends who work together at a fast-food chain hatch a daring plan during their night shift: a bank robbery. Because one of them is doing an internship at the bank, they have the keys and codes – so what could go wrong? More than they thought. The lock turns out to have been changed and the codes don’t work at night. In a last-ditch attempt to save their plan, they go to the bank manager’s house  (Stefan de Walle) to get the right codes out of him. But those don’t work until early morning either. And so they stay. All night long. What follows is a tense psychological game of cat and mouse in which it becomes less and less clear who is actually in control.

Het uur van de waarheid is the first show by the brand-new theatre collective Nieuw Amsterdam, made up of Achraf Koutet, Daniël Kolf, Bilal El Aoumari and Gover Meit. With new stories and different perspectives, Nieuw Amsterdam wants to find ways to reimagine the past, present and future of the Netherlands. The name Nieuw Amsterdam refers not only to the historic name of New York but is also a nod to the established companies in the city.
