Het uur van de waarheid

Het uur van de waarheid

Theater en toneel

Het uur van de waarheid De Prijs is a gripping new Dutch play based on events that took place in Haaksbergen, in the Twente region, in 2005. Alongside renowned actor Stefan de Walle, the finest actors of the new generation shine: Daniël Kolf (Theo d’Or winner), Bilal El Aoumari (Golden Calf winner), Achraf Koutet and cabaret performer Donny Ronny (formerly Stefano Keizers).

Four friends who work together at a fast-food chain hatch a daring plan during their night shift: a bank robbery. Since one of them is doing an internship at the bank, they have the keys and codes, so what could go wrong? More than they thought. The lock turns out to have been replaced and the codes don’t work at night. In a last-ditch attempt to save their plan, they go to the bank manager’s house  (Stefan de Walle) to make him give them the right codes. But those, too, only work in the early morning. And so they stay. All night long. What follows is a tense psychological game of cat and mouse in which it becomes ever less clear who is actually in control.

Het uur van de waarheid is a story about big dreams, unequal opportunities and the moment you decide to seize a chance, whatever the consequences…

Het uur van de waarheid is the first show by the brand-new theatre collective Nieuw Amsterdam, made up of Achraf Koutet, Daniël Kolf, Bilal El Aoumari and Gover Meit. Through new stories and different perspectives, Nieuw Amsterdam seeks ways to reimagine the past, present and future of the Netherlands. The name Nieuw Amsterdam refers not only to the historical name of New York, but is also a nod to the established companies in the city.
