Hugo de Groot, de musical

In this musical full of pop-rock, a well-known chapter of Dutch history turns out to be more relevant than ever. What is freedom worth if you only get it by conforming? What price are you willing to pay for peace?
In a country where faith and politics clash, Hugo chooses tolerance and freedom of thought. In doing so he makes himself an enemy and loses his own freedom. When Hugo is locked up in Loevestein Castle, his voice seems to have been silenced for good. Thanks to the courage and ingenuity of his wife Maria, a plan is hatched – and the rest is history.

‘Hugo de Groot, de musical’ is a gripping story about freedom, doubt and the courage to give others room. What if freedom starts with you??
