Carmina Burana
The drama, the sadness, the FATE...!
We've heard it in movies, commercials and on TV, but have we also experienced it live, in a performance that brings together four very different musical forces?
A piece of music you must have heard live at least once in your life!
Carl Orff was not wrong when he was inspired by the medieval manuscript collection of 254 satirical poems, with miniatures depicting scenes of love, the forest and gambling.
A lush, almost paradisiacal forest landscape full of trees, plants and birds is an ode to the budding nature.
Helmond is also not unfamiliar with the Middle Ages, with its 14th-century castle as one of the city's striking landmarks.
Classic? Yes, but different!
That is the motto of the Brabant Chamber Orchestra, founded in 2020 by the Iranian conductor, composer and artistic director Amin Amel Ebrahimi. With an international collective of young professional musicians, BCO challenges the traditional concert experience by combining classic masterpieces with fresh perspectives and unexpected collaborations. Led by Amin, Carmina Burana becomes an opportunity to bring together not only different musical forces, but also different communities, generations and traditions — all on one stage, for one monumental experience.
Project 23, a community project that brings together passionate amateur singers from the Nuenen/Eindhoven region to perform major choral works alongside new music, in close collaboration with the dedicated project manager and music lover Mariejon Punt. Royal Tilburg Men's Choir Sint Caecilia, one of the established men's choirs in the region, with a rich tradition dating back to 1877 and a versatile repertoire ranging from classical music to modern works, is preparing to celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2027. And the exceptionally young and passionate Oosterhout Nightingales, who bring the energy and fresh voices of a new generation to the stage and have performed Carmina Burana before.
With the holographic images and projections by Sebastiaan Schoonen, which constantly allow music and image to react to each other, you experience the concert in a special, unusual way that stimulates all your senses.
I will leave the answer to the previously asked question to you! Give in to your curiosity and feed your imagination, we'll see you at the performance!
