Dunja Jocić

Dunja Jocić

Dans & ballet

After a successful series of performances in a sold -out Stadstheater Osnabrück, the new international production of choreographer Dunaja Jocić comes to the Netherlands.  More than a century later, Dunja Jocić turns this iconic ballet inside out. In afternoon or a nymph, she shifts the focus from the faun to the nymph, which in the original was only a silent object of desire.  What happens if the person who was always observed looks back? In this penetrating performance, with a cast of seven excellent dancers, perspectives shift and crumbles off, making confrontation inevitable. With cutting precision and physical intensity, Jocić dissects what it feels like to break loose from an imposed narrative. The music plays a key role in this: composer and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Bonny, known for his innovative merger of classical music with pop and electronic styles, heromps Debussy's masterpiece into a penetrating, new composition.  For this you can reserve a place free of charge during the ordering process.
