A production of New Helmonds Theater collective Slapak and the Speelhuis in the context of 80 years of freedom. A Englishman is on the doorstep. The son of a liberator. He follows the traces of his father. His special story is the start of this performance. Because on September 25, 1944, Helmond was liberated, but was the war actually over here? What happened around the liberation and the months thereafter? In three other houses in the neighborhood, the doorbell is also rang in those years. Small stories perhaps in the great world history, but every story is meaningful.
about the form
The performance takes you - literally - into the neighborhood. In a pleasant walk with headphones we tell the stories of the addresses where the doorbell rang. Then you look in the playhouse at the show about what happened on Steenweg 55.
