Johnny de Mol
Johnny de Mol is back on stage! He has been to the depths, dug deep, and that’s how you create a lot. In his second show, ‘Goed dat jij bestaat!’, Johnny embraces the comfort of ordinary domestic life and lets the influence of the women in his life flow into the resilience of fatherhood.
It chafes, too: Johnny puts taboos under the magnifying glass with boundary-respecting audacity. Or does he, just about? Because where exactly is that invisible tipping point between celebrated boundary-pushing and despicable boundary-crossing? And why do we rush to help someone with a broken leg, yet run a mile when that same person tells us the voices in their head won’t leave them alone?
Be seen and be heard during an evening done Johnny-style, full of humour and music by, among others, Alain Clark and Glenn Faria. With a laugh, a tear and his irrepressible drive to make the world a little better and let everyone know: ‘goed dat jij bestaat!’ – it’s good that you exist!
