The T.rex lived at the end of the dinosaur era and was probably the most dangerous predator that ever walked on land. But how long ago was that actually? What did the earth look like in the time of the dinosaurs and how did they become extinct?  Melanie During discovered the season of the meteorite impact that ended 165 million years of dinosaurs. With more than twelve years of excavation experience — from the Winterswijk quarry to the badlands of North Dakota — she now knows how field work works. And yet: on the penultimate day of such an expedition, on the way to the car, she tripped over a protruding bone while a few meters further a colleague was complaining about an even larger bone... Because field work looks slightly different in practice than on TV.  people. And in between you learn how animals fossilize, how paleontologists find them, how unlikely it is that we are still here after five mass extinctions and how old the Earth really is, in a way that finally sticks. Melanie is also called the rock star of paleontology. She firmly believes in science coming in and that works best with humor and music. An evening full of extinct life, unexpected discoveries and music. No prior knowledge required. No jargon. No patience. N.B. The public is in no immediate danger from T.rex or other dinosaurs.
