Remko Vrijdag takes to the stage alone once again. That promises another unpredictable evening full of absurd twists. His first solo show Vrijdag, Doemsdag was unanimously acclaimed. NRC gave the show five stars and it was nominated for a Poelifinario, the most important cabaret award. Critics particularly praised Vrijdag’s ability to bring chaos, fantasy and social commentary together in a style that is all his own and impossible to imitate.
In Marko Maandag Remko Vrijdag carries that line further, taking the audience by his/her/their hand into a world where anything is possible. Well, quite a lot, anyway. With new stories, songs, unexpected perspectives and, jawohl, impersonations. Above all that of a certain former prime minister who phones Daddy and just kéeps on haunting him. It’s driving him round the bend. Or has he long been there already, our jester in this world gone mad?
One thing is certain. In this show Remko Vrijdag will finally answer the question: who is the real Marko Maandag?
