Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker
After the success of Nieuwe Buren, the makers are once again bringing a thrilling thriller by bestselling author Saskia Noort to Dutch theaters. In De Verbouwing top actors Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker star in the leading roles.
Isa Hoes takes on the role of plastic surgeon Mathilde. Together with her husband Rogier and their daughter, she seems to live the perfect life. But behind that facade everything is crumbling. While Mathilde opens her brand new, ultra-modern private clinic, her own house is in ruins due to a completely derailed renovation. Rogier is suffering from a burnout and their daughter flees the chaos by retreating to the garden house. When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she ends up in a dangerous game with no way out. Slowly but surely she becomes entangled in an oppressive web of deception, lies and betrayal...
Edwin Jonker, who previously also appeared in Nieuwe Buren, plays the role of both the burnout-plagued husband Rogier and the charismatic but unreliable Johan. The role of the daughter is played by young talent Jenell Tedjai.
