Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker
Following the success of Nieuwe Buren, the makers are bringing another gripping thriller by bestselling author Saskia Noort to Dutch theatres. In De Verbouwing, top actors Isa Hoes and Edwin Jonker star in the lead roles.
Isa Hoes plays plastic surgeon Mathilde. With her husband Rogier and their daughter, she seems to lead the perfect life. But behind that façade, everything is crumbling. As Mathilde opens her brand-new, ultra-modern private clinic, her own home lies in ruins thanks to a renovation that has gone completely off the rails. Rogier is struggling with burnout and their daughter escapes the chaos by retreating to the summer house. When Mathilde is forced to accept help from her dubious ex Johan, she finds herself in a dangerous game with no way out. Slowly but surely, she becomes entangled in a suffocating web of deception, lies and betrayal…
Edwin Jonker, who also appeared in Nieuwe Buren, plays both burnt-out husband Rogier and the charismatic but untrustworthy Johan. The role of the daughter is played by young talent Jenell Tedjai.
