What happens when two exes, with their teenagers, their frustrations and their unresolved emotions, end up under one roof again thanks to the housing shortage and sheer bad luck? How long can that possibly last?
In Huisgenoten we follow Claudia, Kai and their teenage daughters through a year of misunderstandings, new loves, old feelings and far too little privacy. Forced to keep living under the same roof, they struggle with their divorce, their children, new partners and, above all, themselves. But then it turns out that some feelings refuse to move out. As boundaries blur and emotions clash, it becomes painfully and hilariously clear that some loves are more stubborn than you’d like.
Huisgenoten is a sharp, relatable and refreshingly honest romantic comedy about life as it really is: messy, moving and often hugely funny. For anyone who lives together, has lived together, or bravely keeps on trying.
