Grof Geschud
Flemish-Dutch cabaret duo Grof Geschud is back! Having been hailed by the press as the “direct heirs of Kommil Foo” (Het Parool) and “almost perfect cabaret” (Knack Focus), Myrthe van Velden and Lander Severins now return with their fourth full-length show, ‘VIEREN’.
After all, there’s plenty to celebrate: there are children, a solid roof over their heads, and the relationship between the two is more stable than ever now that they’ve been promoted from exes to each other’s extended family. OK, the fact that Myrthe became the guardian of Lander’s child and Lander then wasn’t even allowed at Myrthe’s wedding may have been a bit of a thing. But luckily Lander isn’t the least bit bitter about it. After all, he was given a USB stick of the ceremony – which, incidentally, he still hasn’t watched (according to Myrthe).
In ‘VIEREN’, Grof Geschud dive into the new tensions in their lives in their trademark brutally honest way. Because how do you make up for missing your family when raising a new little life? And if that family is around, and very much present, do we celebrate that family bond at all costs, or are we better off letting it go? Because you know what they say: life’s a party, you just have to put up your own family.
