Jules Keeris

Jules Keeris

Cabaret

In his second cabaret program, Jules examines his identity full of contradictions. He is a village boy in the city and vice versa. Super ambitious and equally longing for simplicity and peace. A 'football hooligan' in the cultural sector. Certain and hesitant. And now he is suddenly in his thirties: not young anymore, although he does not yet feel like he belongs with the grown-ups. 'Knegsel-Zuid' is about the fear of falling through the cracks, but it is also an ode to his Brabant roots. Because he is proud of that. For this performance he collaborated with friend and songwriter JW Roy.

Jules Keeris (Knegsel, 1993) is a comedian, actor and director. In 2018 he graduated from the Academy of Theater (cum laude) in Tilburg. He toured successfully with his first program 'De Uitverkorenen' and won prizes and final places at various cabaret festivals. In addition to his solo work, he directs theater productions and fellow comedians, acts in theater performances and TV commercials and plays throughout the country with the musical theater company 'De Italianen'. Jules' work is comic, often has an absurd edge and is always packed with fun and compassion for fellow human beings. His performances feel like a warm bath, with lots of laughter.

Quotes

*F. van Alebeek, cultural critic: "The audience is 'of the world' for an hour and a half and in Jules' wonderful, absurd, recognizable, poetic, cheerful and musical universe."

  • Eindhovens Dagblad: ''Like a chameleon, this theater talent examines his own color.''
