Jules Keeris
In his second cabaret show, Jules explores an identity full of contradictions. He is a village boy in the city, and vice versa. Hugely ambitious, yet just as keen on simplicity and peace and quiet. A ‘football hooligan’ in the cultural sector. Decisive ánd hesitant. And now, all of a sudden, he has turned thirty as well: no longer young, though deep down he doesn’t feel like one of the grown-ups yet. ‘Knegsel-Zuid’ is about the fear of falling between two stools, but it is also an ode to his Brabant roots. Because he is proud of them. For this show he joined forces with his friend, the songwriter JW Roy.
Jules Keeris (Knegsel, 1993) is a cabaret performer, actor and director. In 2018 he graduated cum laude from the Academy of Theatre in Tilburg. He toured successfully with his first show ‘De Uitverkorenen’ and won prizes and finalist places at various cabaret festivals. Alongside his solo work, he directs theatre productions and fellow cabaret performers, acts in plays and TV commercials, ánd performs all over the country with the musical theatre company ‘De Italianen’. Jules’ work is comic, often has an absurd edge and is álways brimming with joy ánd compassion for his fellow human beings. His shows feel like a warm bath, with lóts of laughter.
