Kim doesn't know anymore. Not what she should believe. Not who. Not in which. Not even if she has her shoes on. And if that is not the case: whether that immediately means that she does not have her life in order.
'God is a brat' becomes an explosive mix of cabaret, performance and physical outbursts. Full of shameless jokes, characters that cannot be tamed, clownish chaos, talking body parts, failed illusions and tricks that make you wonder: did this go wrong or is this brilliant?
Kim plays a dangerous game with reality. What is real? What is fake? Should we intervene? Or can we just laugh? Together with the audience she looks for something to hold on to. Or at least to a nice evening. She really hopes for that. That it will be fun. That we stumble together and get back up again. Maybe we can admit for a moment that we don't know exactly.
For all art lovers, art haters and everyone in between. For doubters, thinkers and people who accidentally stepped on the banana peel of history. Come laugh. Come stumble. Come take a look inside Kim's head. It is busy, but you are very welcome. And who knows, maybe you'll believe in something again afterwards. Or not. Also good.
About Kim Karssen
After the widely praised 'We're all alone in this together' (named one of the best performances of the season by NRC and de Volkskrant, among others), Karssen takes her next step with 'God is a snotje': an evening-filling cabaret performance in which humor not only liberates, but also disrupts.
