Oedipus
A beautiful, musical staging of this magnificent play about Oedipus, King of Thebes.
Oedipus tries to find the cause of a deadly plague that has struck the city of Thebes. An oracle reveals that the disaster will only end when the murderer of the previous king is found. Oedipus resolves to uncover the truth at any cost. During his investigation, more and more clues emerge that are connected to his own past. In the end, his search leads to a shocking discovery.
Studio Antigone will perform Oedipus as the breathtaking thriller it truly is. With, of course, the language of Sophocles, which has easily survived its 2,500 years, shining at its centre.
A show about truth and the role it plays in society. How does a person respond to the truth when it is not to his liking?
And just as in the classical productions, the choruses will be sung. With authentic music from the 5th century (BC).
