Bang omdat het kan!
'Afraid because it's possible!' is cabaret with a strong undertone. An eerily recognizable performance about home, garden and kitchen fears made by Psychology on the Planks (psychologists and creative makers) about everyday discomfort that we would rather run away from. Postpone difficult things. Avoiding that tense conversation. Choice stress. Insecurity. Doubts that persist. Keep raising the bar. Doom thinking. In short: it's about super fun house, garden and kitchen fears that everyone knows something about. 'Afraid because it's possible!' looks it straight in the face, with lightness, humor and self-mockery. The performance shows how people can struggle with difficult feelings and thoughts and gives you directions on how to deal with them differently. How, despite fear, you can still choose what is really important to you. Playful, musical and humorous, but also honest and sometimes a bit uncomfortable. The psychologist actors and musicians of Psychology on the Planks unfold the whole thing in a light-hearted manner and after seeing this performance you will look at anxiety differently.
The story
We follow two trainers who provide a session together within an organization, but in the meantime become increasingly stuck in their own fears. Their completely different styles constantly clash: rational control versus emotional sensitivity. What starts as a recognizable standard workout slowly turns into something else. Something real. Something vulnerable.
