In 'The show goes on' STEL examines the everyday idea of the encounter. When can you really meet someone? What is a real encounter? Can we record exactly when and why this happens? Is it possible to let go of all expectations and really see each other, as if for the first time? This philosophical pulp does not focus on the question 'who am I?', but rather: 'what are we'?

Romy and Thomas try to put their finger on these questions through a series of meeting scenes. But they soon lose themselves in a meandering conversation in which they wonder whether the real meeting, instead of a spectacular beginning, does not lie in the endlessly continuous middle part. Doesn't an encounter happen just when you expect nothing?

Romy and Thomas try to meet each other again not only as players, but also as friends. That friendship is 10 years old. Why have they been talking to each other for so long? Can they remember where it all started? And can you always try to see someone you have known for years for the first time?

'The show goes on' is a light-hearted, philosophical and playful performance about seeing and being seen. About expectations and surprises. About how we find, lose and get to know each other again.
