Principles. Lovely! Those self-imposed fundamental rules for living that always turn out to be inconvenient just when it really matters. Look, in principle I don’t lie, but if you ask me how I’m doing, you get the rose-tinted summary and not the whole story. Handy, if I want to get that feigned interest again next time. Principles are all well and good, but life is hard enough without them. ‘In principe’ – in principle – this show is about principles. Unless that turns out to go against my principles. Then it isn’t. Do I have objections on principle? Certainly, but as long as you buy a ticket, you’re in principle very welcome.

Over the past few years, Tim Hartog has proven himself a unique stage personality with sharp observations. With his engaging style, he effortlessly wins over every audience. And he doesn’t shy away from confronting subjects. After the success of his previous show ‘Frictie’, he returns to theatres this season with ‘In principe’. Expect a show in which Tim observes with a hefty dose of self-mockery and humour. In principle, that is.

About Tim Tim Hartog graduated from the Koningstheateracademie in 2010 and reached the final of the Leids Cabaret Festival. In recent years he has built up a sizeable following through his social media channels, his performances at Comedy Club Haug, by hosting the very first Rijnmond New Year’s Eve show (2023) and by reaching the final of ‘De Slimste Mens’(2024). He is also a popular guest on the Dutch comedy circuit and a much sought-after host. On television he has appeared in ‘The Comedy Factory’ and ‘De Grote Improvisatieshow’. He has played major festivals such as Paaspop and Lowlands.
