Principles. Delicious! Those self-imposed fundamental rules of life that always come out awkward when it really matters. Look, in principle I don't lie, but if you ask me how I'm doing you get the rosy summary and not the whole story. Very useful the next time I want to get that feigned interest again. Principles are all well and good, but without them it's hard enough. 'In principle' this performance is about principles. Unless it turns out that this goes against my principles. Then not. Do I have any objections in principle? Certainly, but as long as you buy a ticket you are in principle very welcome.
Tim Hartog has proven to be a unique stage personality in recent years with his sharp observations. With his engaging style he effortlessly captures any room. He does not avoid confrontational topics. After the success of his previous program 'Frictie', he returns to the theaters this season with 'In principle'. Expect a performance in which Tim observes with a good dose of self-mockery and humor. In principle then.

The press about 'Friction'
-
I Love Theater: “With a combination of sharp jokes, compelling stories and subtle emotions, Hartog creates a performance that is not only entertaining, but also thought-provoking. … Friction is an inspiring example of how humor and depth reinforce each other. Tim Hartog leaves an indelible impression.”
-
Theaterkrant: “Although porn can easily become a vulgar subject, Hartog manages to limit this with his approach – the origin of addiction. His struggle with this is woven through the performance like a common thread. This brings depth and sometimes some heaviness to the performance, without sacrificing the humor.”
