Before the Story Starts - URLAND
Inspired by The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Being John Malkovich and Alan Watts, master storyteller Thomas Dudkiewicz travels through the subconscious of the universe in search of answers.
The story that is not yet a story has a surreal structure, full of cryptic hosts, capricious guides and philosophical dead ends.
As he meets his alter ego(s), he unravels the story of why, why does he tell stories? How does meaning arise? And what happens when we are faced with the possibility that there is no answer?

The media about Before the Story Starts
"An exclusively acoustic journey with all kinds of sounds, in which Dudkiewicz repeatedly goes through a fictional maze of rooms, each time adding a new audio layer.
In this way he can enter into dialogue with himself, the initially loose texts fit together for us like a puzzle, our imagination is stimulated and the search for the beginning of a story ultimately turns out to be a story in itself.
Extremely well done." (Trouw ★★★★★)
"The scenes are effortless to visualize: a trip at sea, entering new spaces, even oral satisfaction.
The story requires some surrender at the beginning, but anyone who lets themselves be carried away ends up in an ingenious maze in which reality and imagination create a mindfuck." (NRC ★★★★★)
