Dolorosais a musical search for humanity. Actress, soprano and theater maker Marie-Mae van Zuilen departs from classical music with full dedication. She is accompanied by a five-member male choir of different shapes and sizes. Together they break free from ingrained roles and patterns of victim and perpetrator.

With Dolorosa, Marie-Mae completes her triptych about trauma after sexual violence. Dreaming, a musical theatrical concert about being stuck in an event, was selected for Het Debuut. In the second part, The 7 Rooms, the wonderful world of coping mechanisms after sexual violence unfolded, through seven rooms, each with their own musical identity. Dolorosa will be her first full-length performance and her debut as a newcomer at Orkater.
