Frau Luna - Opera Zuid
A group of young dreamers become captivated by the moon. They build an airship and go looking for the man in the moon. There they end up in a wonderful world where freedom, love and fantasy determine the rules. Old conventions disappear, new desires blossom and nothing is as it seems. Or does the moon world ultimately turn out to be an imaginative reflection of earthly life?
Steef de Jong consciously opts for a visible theater illusion: with cardboard, strings and inventive theatrical inventions, the singers build a complete (lunar) world on stage. Philzuid, led by musical director Enrico Delamboye, provides energetic, timeless music, with swinging march rhythms and cabaret-like influences.
Sung and spoken in Dutch, with English surtitles.
