With ROUGE, choreographer Isabelle Beernaert returns to the essence of her artistic signature. She has been creating dance for 40 years, in which emotion and inner experience merge into a physical and universal language. In ROUGE that power flares up again. Stomping feet, shaking earth and bodies that refuse to remain silent are the starting point of a raw dance ritual. Fury, anger and vulnerability are not suppressed, but transform into pure life energy. Red flows through the performance as a heartbeat and primal force.
