In JOIE DE VIVRE Joël takes you on a personal quest. Cycling towards Paris, in search of ‘the man’ – a mythical master of theatre and success. Halfway there he gets a phone call from the Netherlands. Would he like to be the face of a huge event at the Philips Stadion? Dream or security. Silence or the masses. Church or funfair.
What follows is a sharp, funny and musical show in which Joël questions himself, celebrates life and draws the audience into his dilemma. With strong songs, humour and unexpected twists.
JOIE DE VIVRE is not a choice between two worlds, but a musical clash of ambition, doubt and success.
The show is being developed in collaboration with director Ruut Weissman (whose credits include Peter Pannekoek, Paul de Leeuw, Acda & De Munnik and Simone Kleinsma).
