Tough little Kat isn’t afraid of anything. Not of the dark, not of her dreams... but she is afraid that her mother won’t get out of bed any more. She decides she must make the most beautiful drawing in the world to save her mother. But is that even possible? And what if you want to be brave while you’re also a little bit scared?
Adventures when the lights go out
In Banger dan ik, a world full of shadows and magical drawings comes to life as soon as the lights go out. Writer Sanne Schuhmacher and director Dimphna van Kempen create an imaginative show about looking your fears in the eye. Last year they won the award for best youth theatre production with A Country Inside My Head.
Worries you can’t always see
Director Dimphna van Kempen: “Many children in the Netherlands carry a heavy caring responsibility and above all want to see their parents happy. With this show I want to give all brave children the courage to face their fears.”
