Capella Brabant
Imagine that the very person you least expect turns out to be exactly the one you need most.
In Alleen Samen we meet Ger, a headstrong older man who urgently needs care just before Christmas. Then suddenly home care is standing at his door: Maria, young, pregnant and determined to do her job. He firmly turns her away. She stays. What starts as a conflict slowly becomes something else. Something that chafes, moves and surprises.
Alleen Samen is a contemporary musical Christmas tale about loneliness and closeness. About differences that seem vast but can still be bridged. About Christmas and tradition, but also about that special moment when something shifts and you come together.
Capella Brabant sings breathtaking choral music. You’ll hear new Christmas carols that you’ll find yourself singing along to. A story that moves from resistance to connection. Baritone Marcel van Dieren and actress/singer Olinda Larralde Ortiz perform this contemporary Christmas tale, accompanied by the Arthema Quartet and trumpeter Sjoerd Pauw. The libretto is by Jibbe Willems and the music by Lucas Wiegerink, the creators of the successful production De Klacht van de Vrede.
