Along the way Slagerij van Kampen developed a unique style all its own, which has earned them, among other things, an Edison, a gold record, a Golden Ticket Award and countless sold-out venues. In the name of freedom, the band has performed for Nelson Mandela and, more recently, at the National Liberation Concert on the Amstel.

About the artist

Founded in 1982 by Willem van Kruijsdijk and Mies Wilbrink, Slagerij van Kampen is an iconic percussion group. With their powerful, rhythmic shows and a unique drumming style inspired by the Burundi Drummers, they have conquered stages around the world. Forty years on, they are still a source of energy, inspiration and musical spectacle.
