Thijs Kemperink
Twente-born cabaret performer Thijs Kemperink is an inimitable storyteller. In his new show ‘Tot het uiterste gedreven’, Thijs investigates why we have collectively swapped our common sense for an ‘unhealthy’ kind of headless-chicken panic. We are now so terrified of the slightest scratch on our souls that we have put life in the freezer as a precaution, so that at least we can be buried later in perfect health and unused.
Thijs is normally kindness itself, but recently even he reached the proverbial edge. He was on the verge of taking the law into his own hands – which, with his two left hands, was a pretty hopeless mission anyway. In a hilarious and moving way, he shares his frustrations about a world in which protocols matter more than people. With his masterful timing and down-to-earth Twente attitude, he delivers liberating laughter, but he also gets you thinking while you laugh: how do we make sure we don’t really get pushed over the edge?
