BOOM, like that!

Fans of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler can indulge themselves to their heart's content with BOOM, like that! and enjoy this wonderful music. In a two-and-a-half-hour show, BOOM, like that! takes its audience into the world of Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler.

Dire Straits (1977-1995) was a British rock band whose best-known member by far was singer, guitarist, songwriter and frontman Mark Knopfler. The band was defined by Knopfler's unmistakable, distinctive guitar playing and ‘storytelling’ voice. In 1995 he left the band to continue as a solo artist. The band BOOM, like that! has more than earned its spurs in Dutch theatres. For over ten years, the seven-piece band has been filling venues and surprising audiences time and again with a sound that comes uncannily close to that of Dire Straits.

Alongside the music of Dire Straits, this show also features Mark Knopfler's wonderful repertoire. The show opens with the best of his solo work from after 1995, with hits such as ‘What it is’ and ‘Sailing to Philadelphia’. Then BOOM, like that! goes further back in time with the music of Dire Straits. Who doesn't know these songs? ‘Sultans of Swing’, ‘Brothers in Arms’, ‘Telegraph Road’, ‘Money for Nothing’ and many more all make an appearance!
