Ellen ten Damme

In autumn 2026 Ellen ten Damme presents her new theatre tour ‘Medusa’ (try-out), taking the audience into her latest musical and theatrical universe. The show offers a first glimpse of new work that is currently in development.

With a six-piece band, she delivers a show that combines intimacy, spectacle and musical versatility. Alongside brand-new songs she wrote herself, including the bold, feminist single ‘Rare Dingen’, a playful and painful ode to everything women endure ‘out of love…ouch!’, the show features repertoire from her earlier work. Think of artists such as Kate Bush, Nina Hagen and other headstrong divas. For this new material Ellen worked with writer Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer and producer Koen van de Wardt.

With lyrics in Dutch, but also in ancient Greek (nobody speaks it any more, but Ellen is going to sing it), English, German ánd French, Ellen flirts with her audience and effortlessly breaks every rule. In the try-outs, Ellen ten Damme and her Magpie Orchestra explore what Medusa means. Is her role sacred or pagan, sexy or divine, sweet or tough? Find out together with Ellen at the try-outs.

Ellen ten Damme is a thoroughbred artist: singer, actress, dancer and musician all in one. She switches between rock and opera, raw and lyrical, and combines music with theatricality, cabaret and physical expression.

‘Medusa’ invites you to experience, to feel and to be surprised. A sizzling, idiosyncratic theatre experience, just as only Ellen can deliver it.
