Ellen ten Damme
In the autumn of 2026, Ellen ten Damme will present her new theater tour 'Medusa' (try-out), in which she will take the audience into her latest musical and theatrical universe. The performance offers a first glimpse of new work currently in development.
With a 6-piece band she presents a show that combines intimacy, spectacle and musical versatility. In addition to brand new, self-composed songs, including the brutal and feminist single 'Rare Dingen', a playful and painful ode to everything that women endure 'out of love...ouch!', the performance includes repertoire from her previous work. Think of artists like Kate Bush, Nina Hagen and other idiosyncratic divas. For this new material, Ellen worked with writer Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer and producer Koen van de Wardt.
With lyrics in Dutch, but also ancient Greek (no one speaks it anymore, but Ellen will sing it), English, German and French, Ellen flirts with her audience and effortlessly breaks all the rules. Ellen ten Damme investigates what Medusa means during the tryouts together with her Magpie Orchestra. Is her role sacred or pagan, sexy or divine, sweet or tough? Discover it together with Ellen during the try outs.
Ellen ten Damme is an artist par excellence: singer, actress, dancer and musician in one. She switches between rock and opera, raw and lyrical, and combines music with theatricality, cabaret and physical expression.
'Medusa' invites you to experience, feel and be surprised. A thrilling, idiosyncratic theater experience, exactly as only Ellen can deliver.
