Tim Knol

Tim Knol

Muziek

Tim Knol walks. Not with the dog, but around Texel, through Norway with his daughter on his back, around the IJsselmeer, from the three-country point to Groningen. During those walks he looks back on his previous life as the fun, but also dangerously fat singer-songwriter.

Walking has slowly but surely crept into Tim's songs. Restlessness has been replaced by reflection, anger is now love. During the performance 'Wanderings', Tim talks about his walks and plays the songs that played an important role during these long trips.

Fortunately, much is still the same as before. Tim alone on a stage full of instruments, beautiful covers and many new songs. What has changed? Tim himself. That's what 'Wanderings' is about. Reflection while walking and do something beautiful with it.

Wrote about 'Wanderings'

  • Heaven Magazine: “After an hour and a half the performance is over and time flies by. You can call that a major performance from someone who stands alone on stage with six guitars, a mandolin and an Irish bouzouki... What has also remained is his endearing personality. He does it how he does it, but he effortlessly takes you into his world. Loose yet firm, with humor and also concerns... In addition to his own songs, he also plays a number of covers. He has the gift of unlimited admiration and of inspiring others to admire artists he loves.”

  • De Volkskrant ★★★★: “With Americana gems from the polder, Tim Knol proves on 'Wanderings' that he has made the tradition his own.”

  • NRC ★★★★: “The melodies are moving, as are his vocals. Guitar, drums and strings are precisely placed. Knol has found his form.”

  • Trouw ★★★★: “This album was written as a soundtrack for his theater performance of the same name, but it is also a nice addition to his oeuvre on its own.”

  • Written in Music ★★★★: “Knol's voice has matured over the years and, in addition to his voice, the songs on 'Wanderings' offer ample opportunity for wonderful guitar playing, often kept small, warm at the same time and composed with such a refined filigree.”

  • OOR: “…a collection of songs sung, played and produced with great care and love.”
