Nederlands Blazers Ensemble & Duda Paiva
The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble and Duda Paiva Company join forces again Breathe from the forest, an urgent theatrical concert performance, created with the Kamayurá community deep in the Amazon. Together with Andreia Duarte, artist and researcher who lived with the Kamayurá for years, they traveled to the Amazon and immersed themselves in the existence of this indigenous community.
Inspired by their worldview and the music of Heitor Villa-Lobos, the performance weaves live music, movement and puppetry into a ritual of listening. The project recognizes indigenous peoples as guardians of the Amazon and carriers of indispensable knowledge. A meditative and physical experience, rooted in an ethical exchange and with mutual consent, told in foam, breath and sound.
45 minutes before the start, an introduction will be given by Brandt Attema, artistic director, together with guests from the program. You can reserve a seat for this free of charge during the ordering process.
